Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Aromas of cherry, Santa Rosa plum, and black currant with floral and spice notes. The palate has a rich mouthfeel, filled with cherry and plum flavors, and well-structured tannins. This is an alluring blend of 42% Merlot, 20% Petit Verdot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 12% Malbec and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Vineyard Notes
Our estate vineyard lies in the western hillsides above the upper reach of the Dry Creek Valley. Benchland soils (=depth and fullness) and mountain-top soils (=complexity and structure), combine with vigor-limiting rootstock and limited irrigation to yield intense fruit flavors from smaller berries. This well-structured Bordeaux style blend highlights the quality of flavors from our estate.
Production Notes
The grapes were crushed into small fermenters. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.
Food Pairing Notes
Always an easy enhancement for casual fare, it's the perfect wine to enjoy among friends. Bring a bottle to "game night" to enjoy with pizza, wings and chili or alongside grilled veggies, steak, or cheeseburgers at a summer cookout.
