Sans Egal 2016 Platinum Collection
To create each Platinum Collection wine we start in our vineyard by selecting individual rows of vines which consistently produce the finest grapes. These vines receive meticulous care at every stage from pruning to harvest. The same precise care is given to each wine during fermentation, aging and blending to provide the absolute best expression of our estate. Opulent, with wonderful depth and balance, this wine seamlessly integrates the incredibly rich palette of the Michel-Schlumberger Estate.
Dry Creek Valley
Average brix: 26.6
Aged for 22 months in finest “tight-grain” French oak barrels (50% new).
The grapes were crushed into small fermenters. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.
Individual components of our spectrum of Bordeaux and Rhone red varietals were carefully selected and blended to create a "symphony" of classic estate flavors. Dark plum, blackberry, and rich spice with an elegant structure, rich mouthfeel, and long fruit and spice finish.
This PLATINUM COLLECTION “Sans Egal” exhibits the quintessence of Red as can be achieved here at the Michel-Schlumberger Benchland Estate. Individual exquisite components of entire spectrum of Bordeaux and Rhone red varietals have been carefully selected and blended to create an extremely well-integrated “symphony” of classic Michel-Schlumberger flavors.
Food Pairing Notes
