In our tightly spaced vineyards on the steep slopes of western Dry Creek Valley, our Syrah grapes develop a unique personality which is wonderfully expressed in this wine full of rich, ripe fruit aromas and flavors.

Aged for 19 months in French oak barrels.
The grapes were crushed into small fermenters. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.
Aromas of dark plum with overtones of vanilla and blueberry, with a palate of rich layered plum and blueberry flavors, lush mouthfeel and long fruit finish.
This wine is a blend of the best aspects of all five clones of Syrah grown at our estate. Our hillside benchland blocks of 877, 174 and Estrella River clones (75%) add layers of lush fruit flavor and full roundness, our steeply-terraced block of clone 1 (20%) adds tremendous structure and backbone, and our mountaintop block of clone 470 (5%) adds its intensely concentrated color and complex structure.
