Our estate vineyard lies in the western hillsides above the upper reach of the Dry Creek Valley. Benchland and mountain-top soils combine with vigor-limiting rootstock and limited irrigation to yield intense fruit flavors from smaller berries. A blend of clones (Robert Young 17, and Dijon 76) adds complexity and structure along with floral and mineral notes.
For this PLATINUM COLLECTION Chardonnay, we selected four barrels from our benchland block of Robert Young clone (rich, lush fruit), and four barrels from our mountain-top block of clone 76 (bright on the palate, complex flavor, elegant structure).
Jacques Schlumberger’s family comes from Alsace, the French stronghold of Pinot Blanc. In Sonoma’s Dry Creek Valley, he planted authentic European cuttings of this lovely variety in the coolest sections of our rolling foothills. This delightfully fresh, unoaked Pinot Blanc is delicious as an apéritif or served with lighter fare.
This Malbec is made from grapes grown in the red soils of a tiny hilltop block overlooking our benchland vineyards.
This “Faux Pas” Red Wine is a blend of the finest lots of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah made from our mountain-top and benchland vineyards. This wine brings together two wonderful varietals to create a rich and structured wine that showcases the “terroir” of Michel-Schlumberger.
Our Zinfandel vines are grown in thin, red mountaintop soils and produce grapes of exceptionally concentrated flavors.
