Deux Terres 2014 Dry Creek Valley
Deux Terres, French for two lands. The finest grapes are chosen from two very special vineyards on our estate, one on the benchland soil near our winery, the other on the red volcanic soil at the upper edge of the mountain.
About this wine
Deux Terres is great with chocolate. It also pairs well with entrees such as braised short ribs or king trumpet mushrooms and would be complemented by strong cheeses such as Stilton or aged cheddar.

This 2014 Deux Terres is created from a selection of the very finest lots made from our mountain-top and benchland vineyards.
Harvest: Sept 29th to Oct 13th, 2014
Fermentation: The grapes were crushed into small fermenters. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.
Cooperage / Aging: The wine was aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (56% new). Barrels were individually selected for the optimum expression of flavor and structure for this blend.

Color: Dark ruby
Aromas: Rich, concentrated aromas of black currant, plum and dark chocolate.
Palate: Layers of black cherry, black currant, and plum. Elegant, structured and balanced.
