Vineyard Notes

Our estate vineyard lies in the western hillsides above the upper reach of the Dry Creek Valley.  Benchland soils (=depth and fullness) and mountain-top soils (=complexity and structure), combine with vigor-limiting rootstock and limited irrigation to yield intense fruit flavors from smaller berries.  This well-structured Bordeaux style blend highlights the quality of flavors from our estate.

Harvest:  Sep 12th to Oct 7th, 2013

Production Notes

Fermentation:  The grapes were crushed into small fermenters.  After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.  100% malo-lactic fermentation.

Cooperage / Aging:  The wine was aged for 21 months in French oak barrels (10% new).

Bottling Date:  June 19, 2015
