Jacques Schlumberger's family comes from Alsace, the French stronghold of Pinot Blanc. In Sonoma's Dry Creek Valley, he planted authentic European cuttings of this lovely variety in the coolest sections of our rolling foothills.
This delightfully fresh, unoaked Pinot Blanc is delicious as an apértif or served with lighter fare.
This “La Bise” is made in a fresh crisp style (as in Alsace) from Pinot Blanc vines planted in the coolest areas of our benchland vineyards. A small amount of Gewurztraminer inter-planted among the Pinot Blanc vines adds an extra hint of Alsatian brightness. Picked at low sugar, and fermented at very cool temperatures, this wine has a refreshing crispness and wonderful fresh fruit and floral flavors.
