The cool marine climate and distinctive soils o fthe Sonoma Coast work in harmony to produce wonderful flavors in Pinot Noir grapes. In this wine, aromas of raspberry and blueberry follow through with a rich palate and elegant finish.
This wine is made from a blend of Dijon clones grown at three different vineyard sites in the Southern areas of the Sonoma Coast appellation. The flavors of these grapes are richly concentrated by the long cool growing season.
Fermentation: The grapes were crushed into small open top fermenters. After cold-soaking to extract rich color, the must fermented for two weeks to fully develop the mouthfeel and palate. After fermentation, the wine was gently pressed out, settled, and racked into French oak barrels.
Cooperage / Aging: The wine was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels (25% new).
