To create each Platinum Collection wine we start in the our vineyard by selecting individual rows of vines which consistently produce the finest grapes. These vines receive meticulous care at every state from pruning to harves. The same precise care is given to each wine during fermentation, aging and blending to provide the absolute best expression of our estate Zinfandel. Aromas of briar and sweet spice with elegant layers of dark fruit and a rich blackberry finish.
Elegantly textured with rich layers of blackberry, spice and fresh plum. Pairs with grilled pork tenderloin, mushroom tart and roast duck with cherries.
This PLATINUM COLLECTION Zinfandel showcases the depth of flavor that our estate vineyards can produce. Six barrels of Zinfandel were selected from our best areas of our benchland and mountaintop blocks and blended for optimum flavor expression.
Moderate temperatures with no appreciable rainfall throughout the ripening season allowed the grapes to fully develop exceptionally dense and concentrated flavors.
Fermentation: The grapes were crushed into small fermenters. After cold-soaking for three days to extract rich color, the must fermented on the skins for three weeks to obtain a richly extracted wine.
Cooperage / Aging: Aged 22 mo. in finest “tight-grain” French oak barrels (50% new, 50% two year old).
